2007 MBSF Awards Over $88,000 in Scholarships to 59 Graduates
Thanks to the
generous support of the community the Mount Baker Scholarship
Foundation has been able to award an all-time record amount this
year of over $88,000 to Mt. Baker High School graduates! The
Mount Baker Scholarship Foundation salutes all our scholarship
recipients and wishes them success in their academic pursuits.
- Jessi Stipe is the
recipient of the Louise B.
Peterson Scholarship for a
student entering the teaching field with the intent of
entering Woodring College at Western Washington University.
Jessi will be awarded full tuition and book/fee expenses for
her first two years of college; this scholarship is
renewable for two more years for full tuition and book
expenses through a Woodring College scholarship.
- Noah Judson has been
awarded a $5000 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship.
He will attend the University of Michigan.
- Rose Ager will
receive both a $2725 Clyde and
Judy Denton Scholarship and a
$1000 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship.
She will pursue her education at Western Washington
University.
- Jonathan Radke is the
recipient of a $1000 Clyde and
Judy Denton Scholarship as well as
a Thorleif Mohn Scholarship for $2000.
Jonathan will attend Whatcom Community College.
- Emily Finger has been
awarded a $2700 Clyde and
Judy Denton Scholarship that she
will use to attend Whitman College.
- Alex Onishchenko will
receive a $2700 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship.
He will enroll at Bellingham Technical College.
- Keriann Head is the
winner of a $2,340 Christine
Sygitowicz- Sherman Scholarship.
She will study at the University of Washington.
- Kyla Rohde is the
winner of three scholarships: a $1300 Mt. Baker
Staff Scholarship,
$500 Calvin
Johnson Scholarship and a $200
Thorleif Mohn Scholarship.
Kyla will attend Seattle Pacific University.
- Ashley Cronk will
receive a $1300 David
Howem Scholarship and a
$1000 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship.
She will pursue her education at Western Washington
University.
- Garrett Williams will
receive a $2000 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship to support
his studies at the University of Oregon.
- Michael Philpott will be
given the $2000 Duncan
Osborn Scholarship.
He will attend Western Washington University.
- Linyuan Sun is the
recipient of a $2000 Thorleif Mohn Scholarship for support
at the University of Toronto.
- Jessica Raper will receive a $2000 Thorleif Mohn Scholarship. She will
attend Western Washington University.
- Johanna Norstadt is the winner of a $1500 David Way Scholarship as well as a
$500 Thorleif Mohn Scholarship. She will attend Southern
Oregon University.
- Britton-Michael Kinder has been awarded a $2000 Thorleif Mohn
Scholarship for use at Western Washington University.
- Anzhelika Solovey will
receive two scholarships: a $1500 Mt. Baker
Scholarship Foundation Scholarship and a $500
Thorleif Mohn Scholarship.
She will study at Whatcom Community College.
- Kathleen Hilgart will
receive a $2000 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship to support
her education at Washington State University.
- John Roland has won a
$1500 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship.
He will continue his education at Whatcom Community College.
- Amanda Young is a
Thorleif Mohn Scholarship recipient
for $1500. Amanda will attend Western Washington University.
- Trevor Herring will
receive a William
Castle Scholarship for $1050
and a Clyde and
Judy Denton Scholarship for $1000.
He will attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
- Derek Compton will
receive a $1500 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship.
He is enrolling in Oregon State University.
- Tyson Strotz will be
given a $1500 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship for
support at the University of Washington.
- Michael Millson is the
winner of a $1500 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship.
Michael will be studying at the University of Puget Sound.
- Andrew Marsolek is the
recipient of a $1500 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship.
He will attend the University of Washington.
- Justin Brooks is awarded
a $1500 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship to help
with expenses at Western Washington University.
- Laura Newgard will
receive a $1500 Thorleif
Mohn Scholarship.
Laura will study at Central Washington University.
- Andy Basabe is the
winner of a $1000 Thomas and
Martina Horn Scholarship for
support at Western Washington University.
- Antonio Lowe will
receive a $1000 Thomas and
Martina Horn Scholarship to help
with studies at Bellingham Technical College.
- Vitaliy Pipenko will be
given a $1000 Thomas and
Martina Horn Scholarship.
Vitaliy will attend Whatcom Community College.
- Jena Hansen-Honeycutt will
receive a $1000 Thomas and
Martina Horn Scholarship for use at
Southern Oregon University.
- Pete Galbraith will use
his $1000 Mt. Baker
Staff Scholarship to support
his studies at the University of Washington.
- Tiffany Tyler is the
winner of a $1000 Thomas and
Martina Horn Scholarship.
She will go to Whatcom Community College.
- Brandon Larsen has been
chosen for a $1000 Thomas and
Martina Horn Scholarship.
He will attend Spokane Community College.
- Dustin Bowser will
receive a $2100 Karen
Marie Wolshlagel Scholarship to support
his studies at Skagit Community College.
- Tanya Tikhonov will
receive a $1000 Thomas and
Martina Horn Scholarship and a $650
George and Tina Giarde Scholarship to attend
Whatcom Community College.
- Ann Henry is awarded
a $1000 Mount
Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship to study
at Whatcom Community College.
- Julianna Granier will
receive a $750 Mount
Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship to attend
Western Washington University.
- Dain Wright will
receive a $750 Mount
Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship to help
with expenses at Western Washington University.
- Keeley Savatgy has been
awarded the Mandy
Stavik Scholarship for $1760.
She will attend Western Washington University.

He will pursue his education at Whatcom Community College.
