2006 MBSF Awards Over $49,000 in Scholarships to 34 Graduates


  • Allison Sutton is the recipient of a $2,500 Thorleif Mohn Scholarship and will study at Central Washington University.
  • Jaclyn Phillips was awarded a Thorleif Mohn Scholarship for $2,250 to study at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo.
  • Amy Monsen has been chosen to receive a Thorleif Mohn Scholarship for $2,000 to attend the University of Washington.
  • Claire Nevels was given a Thorleif Mohn Scholarship for $2,000 and will study at Southern Oregon University.
  • Chaz Knauft has been chosen for a Clyde and Judy Denton Scholarship for $2,500 to attend the University of Hawai’i at Hilo.
  • Amanda Millman has been awarded the Christine Sygitowicz-Sherman Endowed Scholarship for $2,100 and will study at the University of Washington.
  • Wiebe Boersma was awarded a Mt. Baker Staff Scholarship for $2,000 to attend Western Washington University.
  • Emily Strom was awarded a Mt. Baker Staff Scholarship for $2,000 to support her studies at the University of Washington.
  • Skye Henterly was chosen to receive a Thorleif Mohn Scholarship for $2,000 to study at Humboldt State University in California.
  • Merrit Kutschbach is the recipient of a Thomas and Martina Horn Scholarship for $1,800 to attend Eastern Washington University.
  • Kati Schmidt was awarded a Thomas and Martina Horn Scholarship for $1,800 to attend Western Washington University.
  • Dominic Moceri has been chosen for a Thomas and Martina Horn Scholarship of $1,800 to attend the University of Portland in Oregon.
  • Lauren Pulver has been presented with a Thomas and Martina Horn Scholarship for $1,800 to attend the University of Washington.
  • Elizabeth Hansen has been awarded a $1,150 Clyde and Judy Denton Scholarship to support her attendance at Whatcom Community College.
  • Kelly Andrews will receive a Thomas and Martina Horn Scholarship for $1,800 and plans to attend Pacific Lutheran University.
  • Sarah Faber is the recipient of a Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship for $1,300 and will attend the University of Washington.
  • Gillian Dodson received a $1,000 Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship and plans to study at Western Washington University.
  • Jessica Magee is the winner of a Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship for $1,000 and will study at Montana State University-Billings.
  • Alexey Vetkov has been chosen for a $1,150 Clyde and Judy Denton Scholarship and plans to study at Whatcom Community College.
  • Conor Lough will receive a Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship for $1,000 to attend Western Washington University.
  • Duncan Osborn received a $1,000 Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship and will study at the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico.
  • Shawn Batista was chosen to receive a Clyde and Judy Denton Scholarship for $1,500 to attend Mobile Dynamics Car Audio School in Tempe, Arizona.
  • Kara Bergerson is the recipient of a Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship for $1,000 to attend Western Washington University.
  • Katie Porter was chosen to receive the Mandy Stavik Memorial Scholarship for $1,600 and the George and Tena Giarde Scholarship for $500 to attend Whatcom Community College.
  • Jerika Marriott is the recipient of the David Way Memorial Scholarship for $1,500 and plans to attend Northern Arizona University.
  • Brittany Zender was awarded the David Howem Memorial Scholarship for $1,300 to attend Whatcom Community College.
  • Anna Clow has been chosen for a Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship of $1,000 to study at Bellingham Technical College.
  • Jenaye Webber is the recipient of a Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship for $800 and will study at Whatcom Community College.

  • Garret Kier is the winner of the first William Castles Scholarship for $1,000 to attend Eastern Washington University.
  • Heather Engholm has been awarded the PTA Scholarship for $550 to study at Whatcom Community College.
  • Andrea Wharton is the recipient of a 2-year Karen Marie Wolshlagel Endowed Scholarship for $750 per year to attend Bellingham Technical College
  • David McGovern received a Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Scholarship for $500 to study at Everett Community College.
